This is a poorly made piece of you know what. Do not waste your money. I am angry that I spent so much money on something of such poor, poor quality. If I had spent $30 and this is what I received, I would have thought that yes, that's what you get for your money. But to spend $120 on this piece of junk is absurd. A friend of mine has a wooden kitchen cart from IKEA that looked much better and it was about the same price I believe. I would go check that out instead.

The quality of the container is good, but the instruction/recipe book was a joke. If you are using a newer microwave, you may be cooking the rice too hot. If you find the rice shell not popped and hard, you are cooking it on too high of power. Product very easy to clean.

Currently this Amazon page is lacking in some details about this unit, most notably that it is a 1200 WATT unit, not 1100 WATTs like most 1.4 cu.ft. units. So that's pretty sweet, right?

Note that this model does not have a "sensor" feature like some more expensive models have. Nevertheless, this is actually a slight better-than-normal feature-set for this price range/class (sub-$100) of microwave. What impresses me is the extra wattage, and that I like the idea of having a handle. Many times people complain that they get units with those big buttons that you have to press to open the door, but don't work well. Our GE could be like that sometimes - the button would stick.



It does bug me a little that there isn't more information about this unit on the web, but maybe that is because it is new-ish? Time will tell. Oster has usually been good for us - reliable and straight-forward appliances at a reasonable price.

Recalling how fast Amazon ships on book orders I naively believed the same would apply to a microwave oven. Forget it. And not only was delivery slow it was late. A product made in Japan was shipped to Los Angeles from New York state. Go figure. Does Amazon provide this kind of shipping info before you order? No. Now to top it all off the product is flawed: the exterior of the control keypad is apparently a piece of plastic stuck onto the underlying surface, which has since developed air bubbles that will not go away. It looks shoddy; it feels shoddy. Recommendations: 1) Don't buy small appliances through Amazon; 2) Don't buy this microwave oven.

If you use microwave oven to defrost and you'd like to enter the time and power level directly, good luck. On my old oven, I go Time -> 2:00 -> Power -> 3 -> Start. On this oven, the power level can't be entered directly. You have to press the Power Level 7 or 8 times to get it down to 30%. Terrible usability.

I've had this microwave for three weeks and am very pleased. I previously owned a Panasonic which performed well but died after 3 years.



I decided on the Sharp based on very good reviews but most of all because of the utility light that turns on when the door is opened and during cooking. The Panasonic was only lighted during cooking; I found it inconvenient to check food "in the dark" when I opened the door.



The door does have a loud, distinct "clunk" upon closing. I find it noticeable but not disturbing.



The Sharp has the utility light, cooks well, has good defrost features, and a very fast (one touch) minute button for cooking. I'm glad I chose the Sharp over the Panasonic.

I had the older version of this microwave. I owned that for about 8 years and the panel with the digital buttons, numbers burned out. So I could never see what time I programmed in. The door kept getting stuck closed too. For the price and the wear, it is a great product, that is why I chose to buy another one. I have had it for 6 months or so and it is so similar to my other one, I needed no instruction. It is very easy to use, and durable. Very good power for a smallish microwave. Go for it!!
