This may sound weird but I'm new to microwaves. So when food shot out of my bowl, a friend recommended covers. I use the little one for oatmeal in the morning and the medium one for dinner plates. So these are fine. However, they are quite large and difficult to store. Maybe the big ones will come in handy eventually.

I bought this knowing that it was the same size as a standard (not Hungry Man) size frozen TV dinner. For the price this is incredible! The plate itself is indestructible and can even go in an oven up to 400 degrees. My two three year old loves tv dinners, but they are not very healthy so I make my own dinners with healthier choices and he does not really know the difference. Someone mentioned that the lid does not stay on. I must have received a better batch. Mine snaps on snugly and stays on until I want to take it off. You do noeed to make sure the lip of the lid is on all the way around the plate to work correctly.

There's not much more that I can say about this than what's already been said by other reviewers, except to say that the actual INSIDE dimensions of this plate are 8 1/8" X 6 3/8" X 3/4" Deep. And like other reveiwers, I agree that you'll need to use a rubber band or 2 to hold the lid on. I own a lot of microwaveware by this company and this just isn't up to their former standards -- if you're looking for a little entree plate this will do, just don't tip it or you'll end up with everything mixed together.

I like the fact that I can use this in the oven or microwave, because microwave food sometimes is not so appealing. However these are not so good for freezing. The lids don't fit so securely, no matter how many times I put them on, and my food gets freezer burn constantly. But for reheating there very nice.

We purchased the 11" Nordic Ware Microwave Plate Cover and love it. It works perfectly. We get a plate put our leftovers or something we want to heat up in the microwave, put the cover on it, put it in the microwave and press the re-heat button and wow, the food is heated perfectly throughout with no mess in the microwave. I'm buying my fourth Nordic Ware microwave plate cover in the last 8 years. I like the way this cover fits over plates and containers, and we use it all the time. It's large enough and tall enough to cover most dishes. It's easy to clean, either by hand or in the dishwasher, and it keeps our microwave really clean. It doesn't have a greasy feel to it like some plasticware after use.



I like that it is rigid, and doesn't get hot. It is nearly transparent so I can see the food through it. It looks OK so I can keep it right on top of the microwave and don't have to hide it away in a cupboard.



I'm buying a replacement because the previous one has been cracked for so long that it's become floppy. Every one of these which I've owned has cracked within the first year, from the center hole out to the edge. However, this does not impair its effectiveness, and it doesn't fall apart. I had no expectations that this thing would last forever, and I just look at it as a disposable item. It works well enough and I haven't found any that work better, so I keep coming back.



I would caution cooks to keep it clean, as I once had a Nordic Ware cover apparently accumulate some food in a crack, strawberry sauce I think, and the cover started burning in the microwave. There was a nice long melted area from the center to the edge following a crack. And some pretty excited folks running around the kitchen.



Overall, does its job well, it's inexpensive, but I wish they would improve the materials.
