I bought two of these plates several months ago on sale at Target for about $2.50 (for the set of 2) because I didn't want to ruin my Tupperware and we don't want to use paper plates anymore.



These Nordic Ware plates hold up to the heat and even after several months of repeated daily use, they have not melted, warped, or burned. They show very little utensil wear also. Nothing sticks to them, either.



I just wish they weren't so expensive here, or I would have a set of 8 or 12, they're that nice.

Great idea -- lousy design!!! Nordic Ware really needs to contact Pyrex to create an all-glass vented lid so we can have the best of what this product hoped to achieve. Until then, I'm out the money for a product that literally fell apart during use (plastic portion of lid fell into my soup while simmering!!!!

I have owned two of these lids, each purchased from a local store (one was Target, the other the local high-end store for cooking gear). Both had the problem identified by other reviewers here: the plastic centerpiece stops fitting within the metal outer piece very soon after you begin using it. You can try to fix it by inserting spacers between the plastic and the metal, but these, too, fail. It's just a bad design, period.

This thing doesn't last at all. The clear area is a nice idea, but the two pieces (clear plastic and metal) just pop apart. I tried silicone caulk to get them back together--no success. Just get a stainless steel cover for the same price.

Bot this a few years ago at BedBB and it didn't hold up. The design is great: relatively high dome shape, see-thru cover with vent is great. The problem is the plastic and metal are not adequately attached to each other. Over time (less than a year) they separated and I constantly had to "pop" it back together. Eventually, the two pieces wouldn't stay together. The paint started to peel off as well.

I bought this knowing that it was the same size as a standard (not Hungry Man) size frozen TV dinner. For the price this is incredible! The plate itself is indestructible and can even go in an oven up to 400 degrees. My two three year old loves tv dinners, but they are not very healthy so I make my own dinners with healthier choices and he does not really know the difference. Someone mentioned that the lid does not stay on. I must have received a better batch. Mine snaps on snugly and stays on until I want to take it off. You do noeed to make sure the lip of the lid is on all the way around the plate to work correctly.

There's not much more that I can say about this than what's already been said by other reviewers, except to say that the actual INSIDE dimensions of this plate are 8 1/8" X 6 3/8" X 3/4" Deep. And like other reveiwers, I agree that you'll need to use a rubber band or 2 to hold the lid on. I own a lot of microwaveware by this company and this just isn't up to their former standards -- if you're looking for a little entree plate this will do, just don't tip it or you'll end up with everything mixed together.

I like the fact that I can use this in the oven or microwave, because microwave food sometimes is not so appealing. However these are not so good for freezing. The lids don't fit so securely, no matter how many times I put them on, and my food gets freezer burn constantly. But for reheating there very nice.

I bought a pair of these at a local "going out of business sale" thinking it might be money wasted. I was wrong....for years I've baked potatoes in the microwave in a paper bag (the cleaning lady at the office told me about that method) but the first time I used the Nordic Ware Potato Cooker it worked better! The potatoes cook faster and do not dry out or become rubbery as somtimes happens in the microwave.



I like it so well that I carry one with me when I travel, and if I wish I can bake perfect potatoes in my hotel room microwave. Amazon's price is more than double what I paid but this is the only place I've found them and I'm here to buy more while they're still available. Too many good products like this disappear prematurely.



P.S. - I haven't tried to use multiple cookers in the microwave oven simultaneously....don't know how that would turn out. Also, the idea of eating an ice cream sundae out of one of these seems a little wierd to me....it's a potato cooker, for crying out loud!
