I just made my first homemade cheesecake in a springform (I'd only used pie plates before), and what a difference! it looks great, there was no seepage whatsoever, the homemade crust did NOT stick to the sides (I was afraid it might), and the recipe fit perfectly in this great 10" springform! I washed the metal side piece by hand (a quick sudsy wipe and rinse is all it needed) and there was no peeling, either. This is a great pan for the money, and the glass insert at the bottom is a wonderful idea for baking and serving.

At first I was happy with this pan, but the first time I baked something that had a more liquid base it leaked. I can't bake a cheesecake in this because it makes a huge mess of my oven. I'm tossing it out and finding one that won't leak.

This is the best springform pan I have purchased. It's big enough!!! A 9" pan just won't handle the standard 9" cheesecake like this will, especially if you want to add a topping. It's heavy, non-stick, and the glass bottom is much nicer to serve from than the usual aluminum/metal bottoms that most springforms have. The glass is heavy too...doesn't look like it would break easily. Over all, for the price, I think this is a great deal and I rate it high. I'm very happy with this pan.

... Just like Flower Girl says it does. I saw this pan in a local high-end discount store, and absolutely HAD to have it! I bought it, used it to make two cheesecakes from scratch, and found that the syrupy liquid produced by my from-scratch crust and cheesecake continually seeped through the base of the pan as the cake chilled in my refrigerator. On top of that, after leaving the remainder of the second cheesecake at a friend's, she ran it through her dishwasher to clean it, only to have the pan leave the dishwasher with a large, three inch wide swath of the nonstick coating missing due to running it through the dishwasher. NOT what I would expect from a "professional quality" springform pan.
The concept here is a great one, but Norpro needs to put a little more effort, and quality, into their execution of it. Another handy alteration would be the addition of handles on the sides of the springform pan. Just a thought...

Since writing the above content, I've bought myself a The Pampered Chef Springform Pan, and it's GREAT! It's actually got solid, sturdily made handles bolted onto the sides of the pan, as well as the glass base that I so treasured from the Norpro springform pan, and the handles make ALL the difference in the world! When I bake my cheesecakes in a water bath (something that I do EVERY time now, since receiving rave reviews about the difference), the handles on The Pampered Chef pan make it INFINITELY easier to place and remove it from the bath. The Pampered Chef pan IS a little over double the price of this one, at around $25.00, but the warranty on it is spectacular, and it's a very well made product. I only wash it by hand, but I have yet to see any issues with the nonstick coating on that pan, or anything else on it. It's a GREAT item, so you might want to check it out!
