Love it. The popcorn tastes great. The popper is very durable. It does get hot so be careful taking it out of the microwave. I don't think it leaves anymore unpopped kernels then the storebought microwave popcorn bags but no more waste from all those bags and chemicals.

Excellent product. Works just as stated. Will pay for itself in savings over the high cost of manufactured popcorn bag products. The chemicals used in microwave products are certainly suspect and possibly dangerous to consume. I use 1 Tbls of olive oil and 99% of corn pops without burning. I experimented with the time and found that about 3.5 minutes on high power works well. Be sure to use popcorn salt to season. Regular salt is much too coarse and will just end up in the bottom of the bowl. I even like the gray, somewhat marble like finish of the bowl. Most items like this are the bland white finish. The texture of the popped corn is slightly different than prepared bag products. The manufactured bags seem a little crisper, but the difference is very small and not at all objectionable. It took a few tries to get the correct amount of popcorn salt to add. I found that adding the corn and the oil to the bottom of the unit first and then adding the salt directly on top of the unpopped corn and oil mixture works best. The salt is then more evenly distributed on the corn while it pops. Putting the salt on the corn after popping is more difficult. Unless you transfer the popped corn to a very large bowl, and then toss to distribute the salt, the salt is difficult to distribute evenly.

I LOVE this popcorn popper! The instructions state to place in microwave for 3-5, BUT my microwave only takes 2minutes and 5 seconds for 1/3 cup of popcorn. We love this low cal option and it makes perfect popcorn every time. The bottom is hot right out of the micro, so watch that, but that is the only negative I can think of about this bowl.

I have a 1100 watt microwave and it started arching and sparking when I put the popcorn on for 3 minutes like the directions say. It also did it around 1:50. I suggest watching it the very first time and starting out at a low power if you have a higher powered microwave to figure out what time you need. I would not use it unattended ever. Right about 1 minute-1:20 is perfect for my microwave. It works great. For some of the reviews that it doesn't pop all the popcorn, no it doesn't the first time but if you make a second batch it does. I guess it just has to heat up some.

After reading alot of articles on movie popcorn and it's calories/fats/sodium and how the liners inside the bags of microwave popcorn isn't healthy, I needed to improve on of my favorite snacks. A short peruse on the web lead me to Nordic Ware Microwave Popcorn Popper. You decide what oil (if any) you want to cook your popcorn in. I have no interest in popcorn without butter added; so going oil free in the popping stage cuts back on some of the calories - not to mention the salts (I use unsalted butter). Eating from from the popper keeps the popcorn warm for a good amount of time (an added bonus). This product is nicely priced and will pay for itself in no time. Highly recommended.
