I bought one of these for my mom after seeing her prepare bacon in the microwave for an otherwise simple lunchtime sandwich. This thing is a great little idea; no splattering grease, no nasty paper towels or anything left behind. For her particular microwave (800w I believe; quite small), it came out to about one minute per slice to achieve the desired result.
I have read other reviews saying to be careful about burning the device; I can understand that, as it does get fairly hot in the microwave. Plus, it requires a little different method to cook. I found that, after six minutes in the microwave, the slices of bacon weren't quite as crisp as we wanted, but after leaving them to sit in the cup for a couple of minutes while doing other things in the kitchen, they crisped-up well. I believe the delay is due to the enclosed nature of the device holding more moisture inside. Let the bacon air out for a minute after cooking and it seems to be just right.

It's the best microwaved bacon I've had...but it's not pan fried.
Lack of mess is great; but can't use the grease for anything else.
Cup fills with lots of water; the bacon is almost steam cooked in this thing.
So, if you cook it about 9 minutes you get fairly crisp less greasy bacon.
Well worth the money.

The product is as advertised. I got this as a gift, but wouldnt recommend it. It only cooks a little bit of bacon at a time. It does concentrate the bacon smell and grease to one thing. The lid is not as easy to use and I almost spilled boiling grease on myself because it wasnt secure. For some reason I think it took longer to cook the bacon than normally in the microwave, and thus it was drier.

...I learned very quickly that I just DON'T LIKE THE FLAVOR of microwaved bacon. After buying two of these, I kept searching. I wanted something that would be EASY TO CLEAN and would feature a COVER that would prevent splatter and would be BIG ENOUGH to cook plenty of bacon and would cook bacon as FAST AS POSSIBLE while still preserving GOOD FLAVOR. I finally found something that works for me: the Rival S16RB 12-by-16-Inch Oblong-Shaped Electric Skillet with Removable Pan.

This gadget really works!! I just received it yesterday and used it immediately. It was easy to put together and the bacon came out crispy. As the directions suggest you have to gage how much time to cook based on your preference and the wattage of your microwave. Mine is only 900 watts and it took (3) minutes for perfectly cooked bacon without all of the mess. I'm glad I made the purchase. Highly recommend!
