 "Powerhouse" 2010-02-22

This is one powerful microwave oven. It has a higher than average wattage, so I sometimes decrease the power setting depending on what I'm using it for. There are more control options than I find necessary, since it is used primarily for reheating rather than cooking. Still, it performs well and is nice-looking, as microwave ovens go.

 "Good, but not great." 2010-02-13
By mamalinda (Upstate NY)
I was hoping for great! Perfect size--can handle 9X13 dish easily, yet not too tall. No light inside when door is open, but light when operating. Must always push "start", even when using the "quick minute" feature. Must press and hold power button while power counts down to the number you want, or press once for each step down. (Can be annoying if you use low powers often.) Lots of power. Satisfactory overall.

 "So far So Good!" 2010-02-12

Our last Sharp micro (same size as this one) lasted only less than two years so I didn't want to go with another sharp. Our selection is very limited because unfortunately we have to put a micro on the counter and needed to stick with this exact size and color. There's not much to choose from in this size in white!

I really like this microwave. It's very simple to operate and it does a very good job. If our old one was set to say %50 power, you could hear the power going on and off. With this one, it's a constant reduction of power and I believe it cooks more evenly. It's straight-forward and not fancy, which suits us just fine. Appears to be good quality, but time will tell. We've had it only a couple of weeks. The button that opens the door works ok for us, but I can see why some think it's a little flimsy. Not a deal breaker though by any means. It sets against the backsplash, so it doesn't slide, but would if it didn't have that support. Nothing a little rubber under the feet wouldn't take care of.

"Different Door - Light Display - But Works Well" 2010-01-24
By wishiwereinitaly (CA United States)
Beware that the door pictured here is not the door that is on the microwave. The door actually has bold black and white lines over the screen portion. This may not be an issue for some, but it gave me a headache. Also, as mentioned by others, the display is not very bright and it is hard to see.

These two drawbacks considered, it does seem to have the highest power and most features for a microwave in this price range. So far, working well.

 "Very Nice Microwave" 2009-12-23

We have only had our new Panasonic 1300 watt microwave for a week. Couldn't wait until Christmas before we opened it. So far it has worked very well.

Our last microwave was a Sharp and the clock/readout display died within a few months. We put up with no display for about 6 years and finally decided we had enough.

The first thing I noticed was how light the Panasonic is compared to the Sharp. It was very easy for me to lift it up on the eye-level cabinet. Had to put some rubber pads under the legs to keep it from sliding around though.

Since the oven is at eye-level we have had no problems reading the clock or seeing the food cooking when the oven is on. Also no problems with the door - just push the button and it opens.

We have used the Food Sensor a couple of times to cook oatmeal. It works just fine.

The only minor complaints we have is that the beeper is not very loud compared to the Sharp. Also the power cord is black on our white microwave. Wish they had made it white.

Otherwise the clock/display is still working and we our very happy with our new Panasonic microwave.
