I bought this bacon press from Williams Sonoma and be warned--the screw holding the wooden handle on rusted out. The handle will not stay attached to the screw which makes the press pretty much useless. We followed the exact cleaning instructions to keep it from rusting, but it happened anyway. While this is a great looking product and worked well for a little while, it is now trash.

I have a pig collection but this is great anyway. I use it for every piece of meat I fry. I do not use oil so want the meat to sear and this fits the bill.

This unique and versatile piggy press works great. He is top quality cast iron and the perfect size to adequately cover bacon slices or anything you are cooking. Piggy press enables excellent results when cooking bacon, sausage, ham slices, and anything that tends to not lie flat in the pan. I also use it for foods that do lie flat because it helps food cook evenly and quickly. This bacon press causes heat to spread evenly to all portions of the food item and prevents food getting cooked more in the center of the pan and less on the edges (a common problem). He is so cute, a real collectible and kitchen exclusive, as well as so useful.

I purchase this product as a surprise for my husband. He had been looking everywhere for a bacon press that was not expensive. When the product arrived my husband follow the directions on the preparation before you use it. Once that was done he began to fry bacon and breakfast sausages. He said this product definitely holds the foods on our griddle and helps to cook it evenly. It is also goo for making grill cheese sandwiches. We recommend this product, and the price was just right!
