"important limitations for bacon wave" 2010-02-25
By Brumby Mcgehee
I liked my first one so much that I bought 5 more for Christmas gifts. Then my nephew tried to cook 14 strips. The result was a meltdown. The box says you can cook 28 (2 trays) at one time. I melted the skewers and started to melt the tray while attempting to cook 7 pieces of thick cut. My microwave is 1200 watts. I have since learned that if your microwave is more than 800 watts you must adjust the power and cook at a lower setting (another product recommended 80% power) to avoid problems. I like it so much that I am going to order another and use it carefully.I recommend when cooking more than one tray make sure the tray has cooled down between times. Brumby McGehee

 "Melted on third use" 2010-02-07
By D. A. Baker (Arlington, VA)
We received the Bacon Wave as a Christmas present. We liked the idea that we could cook a lot of pieces at one time as compared with our old microwave bacon tray that only holds about 4 or 5 pieces. We used the Bacon Wave for the third time yesterday and it melted. Some of the dividers completely broke off and others melted to the bacon. We were cooking 9 pieces so we set the microwave for 7 minutes (which is less than recommended on the packaging).

My other complaint would be that only really long pieces of bacon fit properly from one side of the tray to the other to be affixed with the skewers. The couple of times we were able to use it, the bacon would have to be streched to fit and then it would rip out of the skewers while cooking and curl up. I agree with the other reviewer who said this product is a waste of money.

 "Cheaply manufactured" 2010-02-07
By Nancy Nelson
This product was manufactured by Emson. The product description did not say so or I wouldn't have purchased it. I have been using the Bacon Wave for years and would have to replace it every 2-3 years because the dishwasher would eventually warp it. This one by Emson was so crappy it didn't even last 6 weeks. It actually warped around the bacon in the microwave. Since I'm stuck with another one, I've reduced power to 80% and actually use the sticks to keep the bacon off of the tray (I never had to bother with the original). I've only used this one twice but it is holding up better than the last one, so far.

"Not nearly as good as the original Bacon Wave" 2010-01-19
By S. Prada
I originally bought a Bacon Wave about 10 years ago which received heavy use. Last year, I ended up buying a replacement because the dividers were starting to come off. The replacement Bacon Wave lasted for 3 uses before the plastic melted on the bacon I had cooked -- forcing me to throw out the bacon as well as the Bacon Wave. Whatever material they are using now to make the Bacon Wave is obviously not the same as the original. It sure doesn't seem like a safe product any longer.

 "Melted on first use" 2010-01-15

First use, melted all over my bacon. Had to trash the whole thing. I am giving it 1 star, because there's no option for no stars
